Brunettes Techniques

The Monica Technique

What is The Monica Technique?

The Monica technique is a part of a 2-part beauty regimen:

First, hair is relaxed; second, relaxed hair is colored to revitalize hair with a rich, indulgent color boost and leave hair feeling moisturized with up to 45% more shine*. Because the Monica technique uses lightener to add dimensional tones, wait one week and one shampoo after a relaxer service.
*vs. un-colored hair.

What products do you use?

BW2 Powder Lightener
Pure White Developer
Beautiful Collection Moisturizing Color B09W

  1. Mix the following formula:

BW2 Powder Lightener + 10-volume Pure White Creme Developer.
  2. Section relaxed hair. Create a large triangle section with the point at the crown and the width at the temples.

  3. Create foils: working from side to side, slice fine foils in a triple back-to-back pattern, skipping about 1/2-inch to 1-inch between each set.

  4. Process foils until hair is lightened 1 to 2 Levels.

  5. Rinse, shampoo, condition.

  6. Apply Beautiful Collection B09W, Light Reddish Brown, to all towel-dried hair, thoroughly saturating hair with color and distributing evenly. Comb through. Time for 10 minutes.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Be sure to wait one week and one shampoo after relaxing before using lightening products on relaxed hair.
